So, this is really embarrassing, it seems that I have “abandoned” my photography website (it is STILL under constructions) and blog. I haven’t posted anything here in more than a year! I did not intent to ignore my blog, but as cliche as it may sound, life happened. As in, I got pregnant and had a baby. Life just got stupendously busy and crazy after I found out I was pregnant, and that I still had a year or so left to finish my MA thesis. To be honest, photography was not in my priority list in the past year. I wasn’t very good at multi-tasking. I just could not do being a mother, going to school full time, working part time, and being a photographer all at the same time. Unfortunately, I had to set photography aside for a while.
Even so, I still did a couple of shoots for some friends and clients last year. I have been meaning to blog about their sessions, but every time I sat in front of my computer to try to blog, I could not help but feel really embarrassed that my blog and my site is not all the way done yet. See, I was afraid that when potential clients somehow stumbled upon my blog, they would be turned off by how incomplete my blog was. If you are a potential client, please know that I am truly working on finish building my site and blog and I am hoping to get them all the way done in April. At the mean time, if you have any inquiries, you can reach me by using the form in the contact me page on this blog.
A little update about my life over the past year. I gave birth to a sweet baby boy in September of 2012. He is already 5 months old and he is truly my pride and joy. I will post some pictures of him here real soon. Apart from having a baby, I also finished my MA thesis. It had been the biggest stress in my life for the past year. I am so glad it is finally done! Now I’ll just have to defend it and graduate. 2012 was a year of anticipating the coming of the baby, working frantically on my thesis for months, and learning how to be a mother. It definitely was a great and eventful year for me.
As for my photography, ever since the baby arrived, he’s been the main subject in the photos I took. This year, I hope to shoot more photo sessions of people other than my own baby. If you are interested, I am you girl!
I know this is really late (like a year late!), but I still want to blog about this engagement session of Karen and Judner. Karen modeled for me once and it was fun to photograph her again. Karen is from Mexico, and Judner, Haiti. They met in college here in Utah. Together, they made a cute couple. The photos were taken in March, which was probably the coldest month here in Utah. I’m so glad they still looked stunning in the pictures despite literally shaking their tails off.
