Hi! I am Ee Wen, also known as Sharon. I am the photographer behind Enchanted Window Photography.

Welcome to my photo blog, where you can find all of my most recent works, sneak peeks, snippets of my life, and everything I do relating to photography.

Inspired by vintage glam and bright-colored boldness, I aim to create the perfect combination of modern-vintage photography.

Thank you for visiting :)

Do you know me? | Personal Post #1

Over the past week I have been examining my blog and website. I know that serious changes need to happen. Soon.

Because my photography has evolved over the past year, I realized the website and blog that I designed and created while I was building my portfolio no longer represent me. Not only does the design of the website and blog need to be changed, I also need to start blogging about myself more. I want you, my potential clients, soon-to-be brides, and friends in the world wide web to know more about me. Previously, I was hinder by my paranoia (as you may soon find out, I am a very paranoid person) of privacy invasion to not blog anything about my personal life on this blog. But my point of view has changed because I want you guys (those who are interested) to know more about me, not just as a photographer, but as a person.

I have been thinking about sharing different things about myself but I don’t want to bore you (and myself ) to death with all the details in my ordinary life. I have also thought of different introductions too, such as, “Hello, my name is Sharon, and I am a wedding and portrait photographer…” (are you bored already?) or “Hi, I am Sharon, and I am from Malaysia” (too formal!). As I continued to ponder what I should share with my potential clients, I had a hunch that I should start off by sharing some of the things I love. After all, what you like or dislike say a lot about you, right? ¬†Hopefully my hunch is right and that you’d find it enjoyable to find out more about this stranger photographer. Maybe this can turn into an installment of “Get to know me” series, yes?

~ I love Malaysia. It’s where I was born and raised. My family is still there and I am longing for home every single day. To me, it is the most beautiful place on Earth. Don’t get me wrong, I totally love the USA too. Sometimes I feel like I love it more than Malaysia, but I guess I can’t really compare that. It’s like comparing which kid you love more. Speaking of that, I used to ask my mom who she loved more, my younger sister or me. She would always say, “Of course your younger sister. She is not as naughty.” But I know she was joking because a) how can anyone not love me more? (totally kidding!), b) she told me that she was just teasing…years later. Back to Malaysia. This is why I love it so much. The beautiful sunset by the beach and a sky full of cotton-like clouds.

~ I love fish. Well, I should be more specific. I love to EAT fish. To me, they are the tastiest meat. Unfortunately, we don’t get many fresh fish here in Utah. That is why I long to go back to Malaysia for some cheap, succulent fish.

~ I love Hawaii. I consider it my second home. I went to school there for 3 and a half years. Best 3 years of my life. I still dream about waking up on the beach and swimming with the dolphins.

~I love my church. I am a Mormon and it means more than anything in the world to me.

~I love my husband, Mr.L. He’s always there to pick me up when I fall and turn on my favorite movie to cheer me up when I am sad. Definitely the most precious treasure I found in Hawaii.

~I love singing. I can sing up to five hours sometimes. Just hook me up to YouTube, or better yet, a karaoke machine and I will sing like there’s no tomorrow. Oh, you love singing too? High five! I love that over in Malaysia we can go singing at the Karaoke place from 11am to 7pm for only $4, with 2 complimentary soft drinks. Are you blown away by that? Yep, ¬†that’s what I’m talking about!

~ I love girly and cutesy things. I am obsessed with braids, make-up, laces, ruffles, pastel colors, dandelion, wedding gowns, high heels, cupcakes, and everything that screams “I am cute!”

Last but not least, I love to photograph people laughing, crying because they are happy, kissing when they think I am not looking, and all the other real and beautiful moments like that.

I hope you enjoy the first installment of “Get to know me”. Check back always!
